Function First. Strength Follows.

Flex & Function is designed for people who have been cleared for activity but don't feel confident moving forward on their own. If you're dealing with lingering pain, stiffness, or hesitation after injury, surgery, or time off, this is the bridge between rehab and real strength.

Start With a Screening

We start with a movement screening to understand how your body is actually moving - not just where it hurts. This allows us to identify restrictions, compensation and what your body needs first.

Restore Movement Quality

Sessions focus on assisted stretching, hands-on techniques, and intentional movment to restore mobility, control, and confidence in your body.

Build Strength Intentionally

Once your body is moving well, we introduce progressive strength training designed to support real life, hobbies, and performance - safely and intelligently.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from a coaching session?

Each session is personalized to your body, goals, and current limitations. Sessions may include mobility work, assisted stretching, movement retraining, and progressive strength exercises designed to help you move better, reduce discomfort, and build long-term resilience.

How long does it typically take to see results?

Results vary by individual, but many clients notice positive changes within the first few weeks. Some experience improvements in mobility, pain, or body awareness in as little as one session. Long term results depend on consistency and retraining movement patterns over time.

Do you offer virtual coaching sessions?

Virtual sessions will be offered in the near future as clients progress and transition into more independent training or online personal training. At this time, Zoom sessions are available for current clients as check-ins, as well as for prospective clients who would like to meet and discuss goals to determine if Flex & Function is the right fit.

Is Flex & Function coaching right for me?

Flex & Function is ideal for those who have experienced a setback - such as surgery, injury, or an extended period of downtime - who have been cleared for activity but still feel limited, hesitant or unsure how to move forward. It is a great fit if you feel stuck between physical therapy and tradition personal training and want a more individualized, function-first approach.

Who is this not for?

Flex & Function is not for those seeking quick fixes, generalized workout programs, or passive treatment alone, or for those who require acute medical care or rehabilitation prior to being cleared for activity. This approach is best suited for individuals who are ready to address underlying movement issues and actively participate in building long-term sustainable results.

Do I need to be pain free or "in shape" to start?

No. Flex & Function is designed for individuals who are dealing with pain, limitations, or movement restrictions and want to understand why they're happening. Sessions focus on identifying underlying movement issues, restoring joint and tissue function, and retraining how your body moves so you can build strength without continuing the cycle of pain.

How is this different from personal training or physical therapy?

Flex & Function bridges the gap between the two. It offers a level of individual attention and continuity that is difficult to find in both traditional physical therapy and standard personal training. Sessions are fully one-on-one, not dictated by insurance requirements, and focused on resolving the movement limitations rather than simply managing symptoms or modifying workouts. The goal is to restore function and build strength in a way that supports long-term movment health.

Real client experiences

I was so locked up after charging hard on the mountain early season, I could not even get up to go to the bathroom. After one quick stretch session I was able to get back on the mountain for a full day 2 of our snowboarding trip.

Eric

I stopped seeing my physical therapist and massage therapist regularly because I was seeing more consistent progress with weekly sessions with Brandy. The results felt more sustainable and applicable to everyday movement. I sit a lot for work.
